COVID- 19 POLICY
AT THE OPTICAL CO. WE TAKE THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR EMPLOYEES AND PATIENTS VERY SERIOUSLY
Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic we have taken safety precautions and invested heavily in state of the art equipment so that we can keep our employees and patients safe.
Below you will find the steps we have implemented to comply with government 'COVID- 19 Secure' guidelines for when we re open.
2m SOCIAL DISTANCING
We will comply with government guidelines and keep to Social Distancing by limiting the number of customers allowed in the practice at any one time.
LONGER TESTING TIMES
At The Optical Co. the wellbeing of our patients is always at the forefront of what we do. We always have longer than average testing times anyway but we will now allow an hour (or longer if needed)for every appointment. This will allow extra time to disinfect equipment in between patients and to ensure minimal numbers of people in the practice at any one time.
PPE WORN AT ALL TIMES
For the safety of our patients, our employees will wear Personal Protective Equipment during all interactions.
EYE TESTS AT 2m
We have invested heavily in the most modern equipment including an Automatic Phoropter. Not only is it more accurate and quicker at checking your prescription, it is also much more comfortable than the old fashioned Trial Frame and it allows us to test at a distance of up to 7 metres!
1 HOUR APPOINTMENTS
EXSTENSIVE HYGIENE PROCEDURES
We will be using hand sanitisers and disinfecting wipes on all surfaces before and after Eye Tests and Dispensing Consultations.
DISPENSING AT 2m
With our state of the art Visioffice X we are able to take all the measurements we require for single vision and varifocal lenses at a safe distance. As well as complying with Social Distancing, the Visioffice X is currently the most advanced and accurate measuring tool available for dispensing glasses. Here at The Optical Co. we have exclusivity on this clever piece of kit which means you won’t find the it in any other Opticians in Cobham or surrounding areas.
