Computer Vision Syndrome

Looking at digital screens for long periods can lead to a range of eye and vision problems

Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is a common eye condition where the conjunctiva becomes inflamed as a reaction to outside influences, causing it to become sore or irritated.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is an eye condition related to diabetes, and it happens when the blood vessels in the eye are damaged by high blood glucose levels.

Amblyopia

Amblyopia, commonly referred to as ‘lazy eye’, tends to affect children and is usually easy to treat. If left uncorrected, however, it could permanently affect the vision.

Astigmatism

Astigmatism is usually caused when the cornea or lens is not quite the right shape. 

Blepharitis

Blepharitis is a common eye condition that causes your eyelid edges to become sore and inflamed. It is most common in over 40s but the condition can develop at any age.

Floaters

Eye floaters are shapes that appear to hover in your line of sight. They can come in different forms - you might see a lot of smaller floaters or just a few large ones. 

Dry Eyes

Dry eye syndrome is a condition that happens as a result of the low production or quick evaporation of tears, causing the eyes to become sore and inflamed.

Hypertmetropia

Long-sightedness usually results in objects nearby being blurred and out of focus, while objects in the distance are sharp and in focus. 

Myopia

Myopia is a common eye condition that causes objects in the distance to appear blurred or unfocused. 

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a rare eye condition that alters the structure of the cornea, changing its gradual curve into a thinner and more conical shape.

Macular Degeneration

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) causes you to lose central vision (when you focus straight ahead). 

Photophobia

Photophobia is a sensitivity to light. You may experience a sensitivity to very bright light, such as sunlight, or low light, such as incandescent lighting.

Optic Neuritis

Optic neuritis is an eye condition that causes the optic nerve to become inflamed.

Presbyopia

Presbyopia is an age-related long-sightedness, which affects your ability to see objects close up. It occurs when the lens loses its flexibility.

Uveitis

Uveitis is a condition of the eye that causes the uvea or uveal tract to become inflamed and swollen.

Retinal Detachment

Retinal detachment is a serious eye condition that happens when the retina peels away from the tissue at the back of the eye.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition that usually involves an increase in pressure inside the eye.
